Receiving A New Dollhouse - New Dollhouse Toy Doll Houses

Little girls are, always, excited when receiving toys that are in their wish list and a new dollhouse is one of the gifts they would, surely, cherish. A new dollhouse is something both boys and girls can play with, though; it is identified with the latter. It can keep your daughter or niece busy when she is alone. It can, likewise, teach her to interact with other children.

A dollhouse is a miniature house so it has all its basic parts. It usually resembles the houses that existed during the time it was built. It was in the 16th century when a small replica of an actual house was created and recorded. The house that is complete with furnishings belonged to the Bravarian, Albert Duke. Other wealthy people followed suit and had miniatures of their residences. They were intended for display, showing one's standing in society.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, miniature houses became more visible in houses of families that belonged to the upper level of society. During that time, these miniatures were not meant to be educational toys but were, nevertheless, shared by children of these families. It was only in the middle of the 19th century when doll houses can be played with but this was a plaything of only privileged kids.

Doll houses began to be mass produced during the Victorian era and this took place in Germany. As they were being exported around the world as toys, 2 distinguished names, Queen Mary of England and Mrs. James Thorne of Chicago, were collecting miniature houses as their hobby. As a matter of fact, Queen Mary hired the services of expert architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, to build one for her. On the other hand, socialite Mrs. Thorne collected miniatures, worldwide. These included rooms that showcased both American and European designs.

From that time until now, doll houses have been manufactured as toys. Though the antique types were being collected by enthusiasts for a long time, this hobby only began, once more, in the 70s. Collectors displayed their prized items in either their homes or exhibits.

From the wide assortment of doll houses in the market, nowadays, it may take sometime for your kid to find one that she really likes. There are different models to choose from, modern Barbie houses that could fit in their 4 inch dolls or fashion dolls of 12 inches. There are classic Victorian homes, complete with lovely interiors. These toys are available in 3 types of materials: wood, plastic or MDF (medium density fibreboard).

A new dollhouse that is complete with furniture and accessories is a welcome delight. There are up to 3 story houses that are spacious to allow several kids to play with their dolls. Most of the ones in the market are easy to assemble with given instructions. Building one lets a parent and child bond together, as they put the pieces together.

Customizing a new dollhouse is easy with separate pieces that are offered by stores that sell this type of toy. It makes little girls use their creativity and imagination, as well. Leading brands such as KidKraft, , Melissa & Doug, Real Food Toys and Greenfield offer the best choices with their wide range of models that guarantee quality and safety. Their doll houses give more value for their price.
