Eight Good Christmas Gift Ideas - That Won't
Break the Bank
By Debbie J Evans
Make their day without blowing your budget.

1.Quality Free Samples. Look out for tester-size samples companies give
away. OK, may be not suitable as a main gift, but great for stocking
fillers.
2.Points make prizes! Make the most most of reward points and vouchers
you've saved up. Redeem them online, they're often worth more that way.
3.Check out community websites which encourage people to give away things
they no longer want - you'll find all sorts of bargains, from furniture to
bicycles.
4.What about An Experience Day? Days out have become a very popular gift
idea. However, they can cost the earth, so why not create your own
"experience day" to give as a present instead? Build it around your
recipient's favourite pastimes and go with them to enjoy the occasion
together.
5.If your significant other loves posh perfume and make up brands, see if
you can get them for less. There are several specialist comparison sites
to tell you where to shop to get the one you want at the best price.
6. Foodie gifts. Go for really easy and cheap options like: A Chocolates
Mug. Buy a pretty mug and fill it with colourful wrapped chocs. Another
idea is a big glass jar filled with the nostalgic sweets of childhood or
with all the dry ingredients for making cookies.
7.A recipe scrapbook. If your loved one is a fantastic cook (and you're
not!) make him or her a recipe scrapbook. Most cooks have recipes
scribbled on pieces of paper "filed" in a kitchen drawer. Collate them and
mount them nicely in a big attractive scrapbook.
8.Photo and graphic gifts. Technology can lend a hand to make personalised
gifts that don't cost a fortune.

Make it the Best Christmas Eve Ever With
These Awesome Games
By Mary Jennings
With all the anticipation on Christmas Eve, often you don't think to play
games. Since most people can't sleep anyway, playing a few Christmas games
can be a really fun way to pass time.
Christmas Eve Hunt
Many adults and children feel anxious on Christmas Eve, anticipating all
the presents and pleasure on Christmas Day. Bring a bit of fun to gift
giving with a Christmas Eve hunt. It adds time and excitement to the
tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve.
Make up a hunt complete with clues so children can follow them to find
their gifts. Instead of placing the gift under the Christmas tree, place
it elsewhere so the children need to carefully follow the clues to find
it. Write your clues on extra Christmas cards or index cards cut into the
shape of Christmas bells. You can even write clues on paper or cardboard
Christmas ornaments.
No matter where you decide write your clues, write a clue on each item and
leave it around the house. Hand each player their first clue. It might
read, "You eat dinner here" and the player would run to the dining room
table. On the table, you will place another clue stating, "We pour this
over cereal" with another clue attached to the milk. The last clue can be
the actual Christmas gift itself. To make the hunt even more fun, have the
gift turn up under the Christmas tree. That's a trick nobody will think
of!
The Circle Game
Many people have a large gathering of friends and family on Christmas Eve.
If you have a lot of guests, play a circle game. Everyone gets in a circle
and the first person starts by saying, "There is a candy cane in my
Christmas stocking." The next person says, "There is a candy cane and a
hat in my Christmas stocking." As each person continues, they state the
previous items and add one of their own. All the items must be repeated in
alphabetical order to make the game even more challenging. When you miss
an item, you are out of the game. The person who remembers all the items
at the end is the winner of the circle game.
Christmas Musical Chairs
Musical chairs is a timeless game you can enjoy on Christmas Eve, too.
Play upbeat, familiar Christmas tunes everyone knows. Make the players
sing along and dance as they run around the chairs. With everyone dancing
and singing, usually one or two players do not realize when the music
stops. Just like classic musical chairs, the loser is the player who does
not get a chair when the Christmas music stops playing.
Where's Santa On Christmas Eve?
The major event on Christmas Eve is Santa Claus coming to town. Since
Santa's arrival is on everyone's minds, play a game of where's Santa on
Christmas Eve. Everyone sits in a circle and a person is chosen to play
Rudolph. That person leaves the room momentarily. Santa is chosen from
those left in the room then Rudolph comes back to seek out Santa. As
Rudolph looks for Santa, the person playing Santa winks at people in the
circle and they yell out, "Ho, ho, ho!"
When Rudolph discovers who Santa is, another Rudolph and Santa are picked
for the game to continue.
The Christmas Card Game
Usually Christmas cards are on display for weeks before Christmas Eve, so
why not play with them on Christmas Eve? Set up a gift box or laundry
basket a few feet away so guests can try to toss the Christmas cards into
the basket. Though it seems easy, cards are all different shapes, weights
and sizes. This makes the Christmas card game more challenging than you
think.
One last thing -- Are you looking for the perfect Christmas gift for your
young children? Send them a letter from Santa Claus and watch their face
light up in excitement. The letter is completely personalized and you can
also include extra goodies like Reindeer food. It's a gift that makes a
strong and lasting impression.

Employee Gift Ideas
By Ted Goldberg
Over the years, I have tried searching for something "just-right" for my
individual employees. I try to get to know them, learn about their hobbies
and their families. But, I'm sure that "World's Greatest Golfer" statue
that I got for Bob five years ago is either in a box or in the landfill by
now. Eventually, I turned to food.
I started out with fruit baskets, but those get pretty boring. I found
personalized baskets with coffee or soup and mugs or bowls. Those are
pretty cute. But, once I started giving cheesecakes, everyone seemed a lot
happier.
In fact, now they would be disappointed if I started looking for other
employee gift ideas. They sort of "expect" their cheesecakes. In the
beginning, I was surprised to learn about all the different luscious
varieties that are available from the better companies. I thought you
might find them interesting.
Pumpkin Cheesecakes
These are particularly popular around the holidays. They've pretty much
taken the place of pumpkin pies, in my mind. You get that same kind of
flavor in a light airy dessert that literally melts in your mouth.
Not a fan of pumpkin? How about mangos, pecans, blueberries, chocolate or
caramel? The best bakeries offer a large number of choices.
Personalized Desserts
"Happy Birthday, Bob!" "Happy Anniversary, Judith!" Anything that you can
say on an ordinary cake can be said more scrumptiously with a cheesecake.
These are great employee gift ideas and you can always include an E-card
or greeting to make it even more personal.
Samplers
When I have new employees, I tend to stick with the samplers. That way, I
can be sure that at least "one" of the choices will be appealing. Then, I
try to make a note of remarks that they make about specific flavors. If he
didn't like the raspberry swirl, I'll order something different next time.
The first time that I ordered a cake, I got it from a bakery in town. I
had to go there one day to place the order. I had to stop in again to pick
it up. It was good, but I have found that ordering on-line simplifies the
process. Cheesecake Delivered.com, for example, has a variety of cakes and
other employee gift ideas. I have one employee that only eats "organic"
food. Believe it or not, they make an organic cheesecake!
Get it Delivered!
Having it delivered is just the easiest and simplest option, but local
bakeries charge a fortune and you can never count on a delivery date or
time. There's nothing more frustrating than having the party delayed,
because the dessert hasn't arrived.
The tarts and truffles from Cheesecake Delivered are delicious, too. We
have never been disappointed with their employee gift ideas and I think
that's the most important thing. Give it a try and see what you "your"
employees think.

appreciate them in my life or something they have done.
If its' a family member, I write a "memory" letter to them; things we've
shared as a family, funny goofs some of us made, trips we made together &
what we remember about them.
You take time to treat strangers kindly at Christmas...why not the people
most important to you??? You never know when that letter will be pulled

(35) If someone on your list has trouble reading - try a magnifying glass
(36) Senior Citizens are easy to buy for if you stop and think about their
needs. Robes are great, if they snap down the front or have larger
buttons. Avoid the 1/2 zipper down the front type, that have to be stepped
into or pulled over the head! I buy what they wear- some hate small
buttons, things that fasten down the back, pull over blouses etc. If you
think about it, all of us have likes & dislikes...if someone noticed, they
would be happier with their gift.

WE VALUE PRIVACY
Choose popular Business Gifts
It has been a few years since companies have begun using corporate gifts
as a form of thanks and as a sign of goodwill towards loyal customers and
employees. They represent the most flourishing segment of the promotional
products market. Last year alone, around one fifth from the sales of all
promotional products in the United States came generated by business gifts
such as lanyards, stubby holders, watches and other accessories.
From lanyards to office objects, to cooking accessories and stubby
holders, almost any company can find a suitable product in the wide range
of available gifts. Everyone appreciates a gift of course, but it is all a
matter of offering something you are sure the customer will hold on to for
a long time, as these are becoming more and more demanding about it.
This is probably because the practice of giving away gifts is becoming
more and more widespread. Many people have a promotional watch around
their wrist or stubby holders on their desks. It is also because of the
fact that considering how busy our daily lives are, we tend to have a lot
less space and time for things we are actually willing to use. Therefore,
everything that does not serve a direct purpose successfully immediately
transforms into an object “for discarding”, and minimalism seems to become
the key word.
The main characteristic of today’s market is the fact that it has become
overwhelmingly competitive. Sensibly, the attention span of each
particular customer is under attack. Promotional stubby holders here,
branded lanyards there, large banners all over the place, and mild
confusion starts to take over.
Emerging marketing opportunities together with the flourishing mass
marketing may confuse the customer slightly. It is therefore the purpose
of all these objects, whether they are stubbie holders, lanyards, apparel
or anything else for that matter, to work harder than ever in conveying
the message they have to convey.
Stubby holders have been mentioned so intensely for a good reason – they
are very popular corporate gifts. The fact that they occupy an essential
spot on the receiver’s desk is what gives it its special touch – on a desk
at work, for example, it represents a small escape towards having your
coffee or tea taste at the temperature that you like it most.
In addition, in order for it to make a lasting impression on both the
holder and the people who, for example, enter and pass through the office,
it has to do much more than simply look expensive. That is not enough, and
it has not been for a long time in today’s competitive market.
Above all, stubby holders have to show that they are high quality and
attractive as well as functional, unique and long lasting of course.
Therefore, moving with the times is necessary. It may seem a rather simple
object, but teams of experts are busting their brains to develop stubbie
holders that offer something unique than everything which has been offered
so far, and this is essentially the main direction of the current market.
About the Author
Thanks to the competitive market surrounding us, there is an entire range
of corporate gifts available. From stubby holders and cooking accessories
to writing instruments and lanyards, the range is widening as we speak,
and the quality of the products becomes more refined. It is all a matter
of placing them intelligently.

Popular Christmas gifts
Remember back when you got that cheesy sweater for Christmas? Everybody
seems to go through that at least once. Those relatives that we hardly
know drop by around the holidays, or maybe send a package of stuff we can
only shake our heads at. What were they thinking? When it comes to the
holidays and special occasions, don't get a tacky set of tube socks for
your loved ones. With the resources at our disposal these days, it is a
synch to find perfect birthday presents and popular Christmas gifts to
suit anyone.
I recall a few years back when my family thought it would be a great idea
to draw names from a hat for Christmas. The concept basically derived from
a desperate attempt to save money. We would each draw one name from a hat,
and then we would only be obligated to buy that particular person a
Christmas gift. Sounds cool, right? Well, as simple as it sounds, I had to
get my aunt's name, who I hardly even know. What in the world was I going
to get her? What were some popular Christmas gifts that would surely hit
the spot? I didn't want to be one of those cheese balls with a festive
sweater that would go straight to the garbage. My first plan was to ask my
wife. What do women in their late 50s want? My wife was of course only 35
and had no idea. Strike one! I then hopped on the Internet in search of
popular Christmas gifts for women. This was a great idea. Online there
were a variety of reviews to offer me some guidance. After some intensive
surfing through cyberspace, I had narrowed down my selection of gifts. It
was either going to be perfume or jewelry. No matter how old a woman is,
these items are a sure win. Thank God for the Internet.
If you're facing a similar predicament and have no idea where to look,
click on the links below and locate those popular Christmas gifts that
will make anyone happy. If you can't locate a personal item, try an item
for their home. Most of us love to receive new things for our home.
Whether it's a fancy coffee pot, or a cool DVD rack, these are things that
everyone uses. Don't try and pick them out a pair of boots or an outfit.
This can prove fatal. Believe me, I've been there. There are many popular
Christmas gifts that are much safer choices. Hop online today and check
them out. While it's still the thought that counts, it's even better to
get something you actually want.
